Travel & Tours
Is there a better way to understand International Relations than through travel? Meeting different people and immersing oneself in a foreign culture promotes true understanding and empathy for another country and its people.
CIR typically sponsors one trip per year to a foreign country. This is a unique opportunity to travel with like-minded people, many of whom have had broad foreign experience and still seek to expand their understanding of the world through travel.
Trips include, when possible, briefings at our U.S. Embassies and visits with former participants of the international visitor program who have previously visited Santa Fe. The latter is particularly rewarding as it gives nationals an opportunity to show their culture and environment to those of us who have shown them ours.
In 2009, we traveled to Indonesia. In 2010, we traveled to Guatemala and Belize in February and to Morocco in September. In March 2011, we traveled to Iran: Iranian Odyssey. In November 2011, we traveled to Cuba. The photo is from our Cuba trip.
We are currently planning a trip to Southwest France.
